Going Through a Divorce? It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

Divorces can be a fight to the death, depending on what’s on the table. Often times, there is more pain shown behind the battle lines than on the frontline.

While dealing with a divorce and talking with your divorce lawyer, it is similar to dealing with the five stages of grieving. You may go through each one, sometimes all at once.

Getting Through It

It is important to remember that divorces are between just you and your significant other. When the proceedings begin, if there are children involved, they tend to be thrown in the mix, without any choice of their own.

Allow yourself to go through the stages of divorce-grief without any interference from outside parties. The stages are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

In the event outside people involve themselves in how you grieve, you may grieve longer than necessary due to them rushing you.

Going through a divorce is unfortunate, but that does not mean it has to be the end of the world. There is life after divorce, all you have to do is make the best of it.
